Multiply Your Revenue With Remote APMs
The APM Network allows you to place APMs outside your lab and connect them back to your lab for printing.
Consider placing an APM in high traffic areas such as malls, coffee shops or supermarkets. Don't buy
another digital minilab printer, connect multiple APMs to it and double or triple the volume of the
one you already own! Contact Sales for more info.

Dan's Camera is a perfect example of how to effectively use a combination of in-store and remote APMs to maximize printer output back at the main lab.
We talked with President and Owner, Mike Woodland, about his remote APM service.
How many remote APMs do you have?
MW: We have 6 remote APMs. If all goes as planned, we will be adding
additional units next year.
Where are your remote APMs located?
MW: Most of our remote APMs are being installed at MailBoxes Etc.-type locations.
We also have remote APMs at a local hobby shop and a hospital.
Why do you think remote APMs will work for you?
MW: At Dan’s Camera City, we have had drop sites for film for some time. In the last couple of years, the number of customers willing to place their memory devices or CDs in a drop-off bag has been steadily increasing. Adding APMs to these sites is only natural. We will be able to provide the customers with a better experience as well as increase our turn-around time and decrease the risk involved with handling a customer’s memory device. We are really excited about the opportunities we will bring our customers via the APMs.
What do you like most about the Remote APM concept?
MW: I really like the fact that we can truly improve the quality of service to a customer.
As most of us in the industry know, it is really inconvenient for customers to upload images from home to
a web-based system. The drop-off locations allow us to offer our quality in a location as convenient
as their local grocery store or pharmacy. This is something our competition is not even thinking about,
let alone able to accomplish.
What do you like least?
MW: We would really like the APM to have a "Special Instructions" field, as our
traditional order envelopes do, so the customer can communicate additional information to the lab
about their order.
Note: The special instructions field will be added to the APM for the next release.

Remote Update (What is it?)

Remote Update is the part of the APM Software Suite that Lucidiom uses to distribute applications
upgrades and patches to our customers over the internet. It runs when you start the APM software,
and checks to see if there are any new updates waiting to be downloaded.
If there are, the APM automatically downloads them. The next time the APM is restarted,
the updates will be installed and the APM will be restarted if necessary.
Because the updates are installed the next time you restart, you should make sure to restart your APMs
at least once a week, in case there are updates waiting to be installed.
Your APM must be connected to the internet in order to receive any remote updates. If your APM
is not connected and you want to learn more about how to get connected, contact our
Support Desk.
